Learn about our rehearsals and audition process:

Guests are welcome at all rehearsals; we provide sheet music for you to read (or sing!) along if you like. You are welcome to simply drop in and see what we're up to, or reach out to us at starlingsingers@gmail.com!

 

Rehearsal Details:

  • 2nd and 4th Sundays from 2-5pm

  • ​Location: Hyde Park Mennonite Fellowship (1520 N 12th St, Boise, ID 83702, street parking only). Starlings is a secular organization; we are very grateful to be able to use this space.

Audition Process:​

We welcome new members through a supportive audition process:

  • Attend 2-3 rehearsals to see what we’re about

  • Ask the director what the audition pieces are

  • Prepare using our provided sheet music and learning tracks

  • Schedule your audition

  • Sing in a quartet with current members and receive coaching

  • Learn your results before rehearsal begins

Auditioned Member Expectations

  • Notes and rhythms are learned at home (we will work with new members to set a learning timeline)

  • Bring your music, a water bottle, and a pencil

  • Be yourself and be engaged

  • Communicate with leadership via Slack if you will be absent

  • Hold leadership accountable
